Gaynor lives at 314 Saw Mill Road, in the Old Saw Mill area of Naperville's far south side. He is free on bail and awaiting his April 27 arraignment in DuPage County Circuit Court in Wheaton.

Police Sgt. Gregg Bell said Gaynor is accused of stealing a bank debit card and a credit card in mid-January from the purse of a woman in Oak Brook. He allegedly used the cards to obtain $994 worth of music videos, video games and related items from a Best Buy store in Downers Grove; $181 worth of goods or services from Advanced Auto Parts in Bolingbrook; and $7 worth of food from the Steak 'N' Shake restaurant on North Route 59 on Naperville's far northwest side.

He also used one of the cards at Naperville Music, 636 E. Ogden Ave., and went home with an Epiphone Les Paul electric guitar valued at $900.

Bell said a detective later went to the store and spoke to Gardner. "They figured out (Gaynor) had called the store before," and learned his identity using store telephone and transaction records, Bell said.

Gardner said he recalled Gaynor had come into the store earlier this year and engaged him in conversation. "I remember he'd called us earlier and asked, did we have that guitar for sale," Gardner said.

"You could tell he was a musician," Gardner said of Gaynor. "You'd want to be a player if you bought" a guitar like the one Gaynor is accused of stealing, Gardner said.

Gardner said he narrowed the suspect list down using his memory and store sales receipts. He added Gaynor's image "also showed up" during a review of the store's surveillance camera videotapes,

Court documents indicated Gaynor has no significant criminal record in DuPage County.
